Loki

Loki is a guard dog and isn't he beautiful, very large and lovable until another animal tries to get into the pen he guards. His job is to protect his charges the Alpacas in his specific area. This dog is very territorial and that is why he is so important to Alpaca owners.

Progression of a new painting

I did not post last week because of illness, but back on the road again and having fun. I have layed in the focal point, but very vague. Next posting I will have started with more detail. This is the ugly part of a painting and the mistakes need to be corrected all along the process. Keep watching for a master-piece.

PAUL

PAUL is a stud at the Enchanted Acres Ranch in Benton City, Wa. I love his red top knot, and his face has such character. These animals are unique and so fun to paint. The photo reference was taken at the Ranch and as you can see Paul was very cooperative. This oil can be hung or placed on a shelf.

10"x10" oil on 2" cradled gesso board. $150.00 postage prepaid.

Still Life painting set up

I will be showcasing the beginning of a still life painting. This will be great fun as you will be able to see the set up and finish of a still life. The Still Life is every artists love as you can endow it with feeling, passion, and something just from your own heart. So watch what happens. Each Wednesday I will add the new addition until the painting is completed.

The Tree

This painting is a commission for a very special patron. It was a photo of a gnarled old tree in the Zion National Park and I absolutely loved it when I was looking for an unusual image to capture. Of course the photo of the painting is a little light in comparison to the richness in the actual colors. We all seem to have a little trouble on digital colors. This painting is a 9"x12" oil on gesso board, framed.
